Client and Goals

Smart Floor offers a data-driven movement analysis tool designed to predict fall risks in elderly individuals. Challenges

Developing and implementing the embedded hardware for sensors have posed several challenges, including ensuring accurate sensor data collection from foot-floor contact, managing synchronization between the sensor system and the application, and handling the complexity of integrating wearable and film-based sensors. Additionally, ensuring the system works seamlessly for rehabilitation in diverse environments while maintaining real-time performance and reliability would be a key challenge, especially considering the variety of foot and motor-control disorders. Proper calibration and user adaptability are also essential to achieving accurate and meaningful results.

Bestronics’s Role

Our team developed and implemented embedded hardware of sensors (film and wearable) that automatically derive skeletal alignment data and movement information (position, orientation, speed, acceleration) from foot-floor contact of the person in the integrated environment. This system has been designed to closely synchronize with an application to help rehabilitation projects for disabled people with foot or motor-control disorders.
